Virus Protection and Information
UIUC Virus Protection
A version of Network Associates' VirusScan which has been customized for UIUC is available for download from CITES' Software WebStore. In addition to the VirusScan program, you should download the Virus Protection Update SuperDAT (found under "Antivirus Software Application Update Files"). The SuperDAT contains the most recent virus definitions — these are the identifiers that tell VirusScan what to look for. Once you get your computer on the network, VirusScan will automatically download new virus definitions as they become available.
Once you have installed VirusScan and the SuperDAT, run an "On-Demand Scan" to ensure that your computer is clean.
